(Montreux–) Les Avants – Sonloup

This funicular will take you high up to the hiking paradise of the Pre-Alps, above Lake Geneva. The lower station of Avants is located on the GoldenPass line and can be reached from Montreux in approximately 20 minutes. Some 184 m. higher and 8 minutes later you arrive at the upper station where you will be able to take in the views of Lake Geneva. Once there, you will be overwhelmed by the choice of hiking trails, all clearly marked by yellow signposts.   Some further tips -  try to do this journey in May when the fields are full of daffodils and if you come during the winter, don’t forget your sledge!
